“An Increasing Number of East Coast High-Flyers And Celebs Are Calling Boulder Home and Joining This Very Special Community” – says Top Realtor Jennifer Egbert.
Boulder has always been the perfect location to live, mixing its proximity to big city Denver with its sense of small town community. Well now it seems this mountain wonderland is fast becoming the primary residence of choice for more and more East Coast high flyers as well as the likes of actor Shailene Woodley, Elon Musk’s restaurateur brother Kimbal, model Cary Otis, and the list continues to grow.

The reason why so many people, especially those from East Coast hot spots like New York, Chicago and Miami are buying up Boulder’s impressive real estate, is clear as mountain air to Boulder resident and luxury realtor Jennifer Egbert – whose brokerage is part of Colorado’s milehimodern realty.

“I still remember the first time I drove over the hill from Denver into Boulder and saw it come into view. For me, originally from Minnesota, it was like a fairy tale – something almost not real,” she says. It was a love affair that has so far lasted almost 3 decades.

She says one main reason why celebrities and powerful business executives like living in Boulder is because it has a total lack of pretentiousness: “Everyone is someone here, but no one talks about it. It’s a truly friendly and giving community where everyone looks out for their neighbor. I call it a small big town mentality, and I totally understand why that appeals to these people,” says Egbert.

While not wanting to comment on individual clients, she was keen to point out that in the past year or two Boulder has seen an explosion in both prices and in interest from people coming from out of state to make it their primary home, and she says COVID and the pandemic lockdowns, emphasized Boulder’s appeal.

“We are so lucky to live in such an open space with clean fresh air yet with all the things we need to run our businesses and our lives to hand. The pandemic certainly has seen a big jump in interest from people who are looking to change their lifestyle and move away from big crowded cities like New York and Chicago, and move to a place like Boulder,” she says.
