What happens when a highly successful, multi-level-C-Suite visionary leader decides to become the new owner of a small, chic, bridal boutique nestled in a loft in Soho? The wedding dreams of New York brides started coming true – one gorgeous bridal gown at a time. High powered exec, Laura McQuade and her husband are now the proud new owners of The White Gown, where brides can find the gown of their dreams and get customized service with a personal touch.
A New Day, A New Chapter
All this comes during the reawakening of the city after grueling months of shutdowns and bans on social gatherings thanks to the global COVID-19 pandemic. And what better place than New York to help happy couples realize their vision of the perfect wedding? It all starts with the dress.
After many months of waiting for “our new normal,” people around the world are starting to see the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. It’s a new day and we’re all embarking on a new chapter as we rebuild, reimagine, and reinvent ourselves after the pandemic. Now couples everywhere are finally able to start their own new chapters and move forward with plans they’ve had to shelve for all this time.
“I’m thrilled to be taking over The White Gown at a time when NYC is reawakening and reinventing itself,” said Laura McQuade. “Many couples were forced to delay their weddings as a result of covid, and many couples found strong connection and got engaged during covid. The next two years will be all about weddings and we want to be part of ensuring that brides have the best personalized experience in selecting their dress for their special day.”
The White Gown: A Bridal Experience
There’s just something about the magic and wonder of a bridal gown. The moment a woman puts one on she is transformed into something ethereal and otherworldly. The White Gown is instrumental in making this happen with one of the largest bridal gown selections in New York. With some of the top bridal gown designers, such as Rivini by Rita Vinieris. Alyne by Rita Vinieris, Enzoani, Blue by Enzoani, Atelier Pronovias, Pronovias Privee, Watters and Amsale they can’t go wrong.
What really sets the boutique apart though is the personalized, bride centric experience for every single person who crosses the threshold into this bridal wonderland.
McQuade said, “We have an incredible team of experienced stylists who put our brides first and help guide them on style and vibe to ensure a perfect fit all around!”
The emergence of McQuade into this new venture will also bring about some changes for the shop. She explained.
“We have always had champagne showings during the week, but we are now launching champagne showings on Saturdays! $250 for a 90-minute personalized experience with champagne for the bride to be and up to four guests.”
Brides who are interested in the champagne showing or the upcoming killer sample sale can follow The White Gown on FaceBook and Instagram. The salon will be hosting the sample sale in late summer 2021 and will feature popular bridal designers such as Pronovias, Badgley Mischka, Enzoani, Hayley Paige, Watters and so much more!”
The White Gown will also be introducing new designers in the salon beginning in late 2021, so stay tuned.
The McQuade Touch
It seems that Laura McQuade just might have the Midas touch when it comes to the businesses and organizations she involves herself with. The string of successful organizations spanning multiple sectors that she has left in her wake is a testament to her ability to help a company not just grow but thrive. Her lifelong, deep commitment to girls, women, and all underserved communities all over the world has long been her motivation to do more and help them be more – be all they want to be.
This passion is again fulfilled in her acquisition of The White Gown. She plans to create a highly positive, supportive space for brides to realize their dream weddings.
She also fulfilled her mission to support women as the former president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York. In the spirit of McQuade’s mantra, “adapt, adjust, revise,” she also has a number of high level positions she has held in organizations in several different industries. The launch of Airmedh Consulting, a strategic consulting firm that provides interim leadership and advisory services to organizations in both the for profit and non-profit sectors, highlights her vision to support business and champion the underserved.
And so, The White Gown is part of her story – and the stories of brides throughout New York. In this exciting time of new growth, new life, and new dreams, a “new normal” might not be so bad after all.
