But more and more, women athletes are making headlines for their work off the field — for speaking up about sports’ mental health crisis, about the abuse taking place within their leagues, about the unfair pay disparities between them and their peers who are men, about the anti-trans sports bans being enacted in many US states. We’re asking: what could the future of women’s sports look like in a world where women athletes receive basic rights including equal pay, abuse-free environments, and LGBTQ+ inclusion?
