Nothing like a good karaoke cover. Kelly Clarkson returned from Thanksgiving break to her daily Kellyoke segment to perform a cover of Bloc Party‘s “Like Eating Glass.” And boy, did she give the band’s vocalist Kele Okereke a run for his money.

“It’s so cold in this house/Open mouth swallowing us,” sang Clarkson, backed by My Band Y’all, and wearing a leather jumpsuit and dark mascara to match the song’s hard rock energy. “The children sent home from school/Will not stop crying.”

“Like Eating Glass” was the opening track on Bloc Party‘s Silent Alarm LP, which dropped in 2015. The album also featured hits such as “Helicopter,” “Banquet,” and “This Modern Love.” The group’s most recent EP, High Life, arrived in July — it features “Keep It Rolling” alongside KennyHoopla, “Blue,” and “The Blood Moon.”

The new cover comes several weeks after Clarkson spoke to E! News and revealed that Taylor Swift sends her flowers following every re-recorded album after Clarkson suggested in a tweet that she re-record her music.

“You know what’s so funny? She just sent me flowers,” Clarkson shared. “She’s so nice. She did. She was like, ‘Every time I release something’ — ’cause she just did 1989. I got that really cute cardigan, too.”

Earlier this month, Clarkson performed a Kellyoke cover of “Love, You Didn’t Do Right By Me” by Rosemary Clooney. When The Kelly Clarkson Show returned in October, the multitalented host launched the fifth season with a cover of Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter.”

Clarkson dropped her most recent album, Chemistry, in June. She released a deluxe edition of the LP in September.
