Dr. Lois Lee, has dedicated her entire career to rescuing and protecting victims of child sex trafficking.

She is the founder and President of a groundbreaking and vitally important non-profit organization called Children of the Night, which was the first and still one of very few organizations in the world, devoted to the development of comprehensive specialized programs and education, for child sex trafficking victims, who need critical intervention to break away from the abuse they’ve suffered, and have a chance to live a safe, happy, successful life. Since its creation in 1979, Children of the Night has operated a variety of programs for America’s prostituted children, including a 24-hour toll-free nationwide hotline, a drop-in center in Los Angeles, street programs throughout the Western United States, and a world-class shelter home in California where over 3,000 children have lived and received comprehensive case management and onsite schooling.

Since 1979, Children of the Night has rescued over 10,000 American children from prostitution, which makes this organization the most prominent and successful anti-child sex trafficking program in the world.

Dr.Lois Lee is the world’s leading expert in rescuing child sex trafficking victims. She holds a PhD in Sociology and Anthropology and is a lawyer and active member of the California State Bar. She has trained thousands of law enforcement personnel and is frequently called upon to provide expert testimony in high profile prosecutions of child sex traffickers. Her pioneering work with child sex trafficking victims has been a blueprint for academics, researchers, law enforcement, social service providers and legislators throughout the world.

She’s received many prestigious awards for her groundbreaking work, most notably the President’s Volunteer Action Award, presented to her by President Ronald Reagan, the Children’s Friend Award from Childhelp, the Women’s Achievement Award from the Dashew International Center for Students and Scholars at UCLA, the “Award of Appreciation” from The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the National Caring Award. And her portrait hangs in the Frederick Douglass Museum and Hall of Fame for Caring Americans in Washington, D.C..

Dr. Lois Lee has been profiled on the CBS TV show, “60 Minutes”, and her life was portrayed in a 1985 TV movie entitled “Children of the Night,” starring Kathleen Quinlan.

Harvey Brownstone is a retired judge of the Ontario Court of Justice and was the first openly gay judge in Canada. He is also the bestselling author of “Tug of War: A Judge’s Verdict on Separation, Custody Battles and the Bitter Realities of Family Court” and hosted “Family Matters with Justice Harvey Brownstone,” a television talk show on matters involving the family justice system.

After a distinguished legal career, Harvey was appointed a judge at the age of 38 in 1995. He has presided in family and criminal courts. He has been a trailblazer in several ways. He was the first openly gay judge in Canada. He was the first sitting judge in the world to write a national best seller and to host a TV talk show.

Harvey has been a role model and icon in the LGBTQ community. When same-sex marriage was legalized in Canada in 2003, he was the only judge to make himself publicly available to officiate at weddings for lesbian and gay couples travelling to Toronto from all over the world to get married. In 2007, he officiated at the wedding of Edith Windsor and Thea Spyer, the American couple whose marriage triggered the 2013 United States Supreme Court decision overturning the definition of “spouse” in the federal Defence of Marriage Act.

In February 2021, Harvey launched his online talk show “Harvey Brownstone Interviews” on his own YouTube channel. He saw this as an interesting hobby. Within several months, the show attracted hundreds of thousands – and then eventually, millions – of viewers. Because of the overwhelming success of the show, Harvey decided to retire from the judiciary on December 31, 2021 after having presided as a full-time judge for 26 1/2 years. Free from the constraints imposed upon judges regarding the expression of opinions and the endorsement of private enterprise, Harvey now happily devotes his full-time attention to hosting “Harvey Brownstone Interviews” as a regular member of the public – albeit one with a rather illustrious and unique career history.
