Neve Campbell and director Kevin Williamson just made it official: Scream 7 is opening on February 27, 2026. Currently, that’s the only wide release on that date.
Earlier in that month, on February 13, Disney has the weekend on hold for an untitled Marvel Studios movie.
The Scream 7 date is a global one for the Spyglass Media and Paramount feature. It’s also the third Scream feature for Spyglass, which owns the Dimension library. As previously reported, Scream and Scream VI star Melissa Barrera is not coming back after getting fired from the film for her pro-Palestinian comments. Box office megastar Jenna Ortega, who helped lift Scream 6 to the biggest opening ever at $44.4 million stateside, couldn’t commit to the seventhquel due to her Wednesday production schedule.
Williamson is the original creator of Scream. Guy Busick (2022’s Scream and Scream VI) is writing. Project X Entertainment’s James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Paul Neinstein (Scream and Scream VI) are producing. Radio Silence will serve as executive producer.

The Scream franchise, originally launched in 1996 with Wes Craven directing the first installment, has grossed more than $908 million at the global box office.
