Farewell for Now

The star said thanked Toronto fans for treating her and her team “like it was a hometown show”

Taylor Swift wrapped her final Eras Tour show in Toronto over the weekend, and on Tuesday, the singer-songwriter took to social media to reflect on “the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far.”

The 14-time Grammy winner called her run on shows in the city “incredible,” adding, “the fans in Toronto treated us like it was a hometown show.” Swift also took the opportunity to shout out opener Gracie Abrams, who she brought out for a surprise performance of “Us” on Saturday. “She’s been giving the most amazing performances every night on this tour!!” Swift wrote.

“The emotions have gotten pretty heightened for me and the rest of the team because it’s gotten extremely real for us: Our next city will be the last one of The Eras Tour, and the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far,” the pop star said as she prepares for the final run of shows in her record-breaking, blockbuster tour.

During Saturday’s last stop in Toronto, Swift bid a teary farewell as she spoke to the crowd after receiving a standing ovation for “Champagne Problems.”

“Toronto, we’re at the very end of this tour, so you doing that, you have no idea how much it means to me and to my…” she said before wiping away tears. “My band, my crew, all my fellow performers, we have put so much of our lives into this. And you’ve put so much of your lives into being with us tonight and to giving us that moment that we will never forget.”

Swift will conclude the Eras Tour in Vancouver on Dec. 6, 7, and 8. Last year, the trek was declared the highest-grossing concert tour of all time, with the tour becoming the first ever to gross at least $1 billion.
