Rachael Cain, known in the industry as “Screamin’ Rachael”, is a highly acclaimed and award-winning vocalist, recording artist, songwriter, producer, DJ, and label entrepreneur, embodying the essence of an all-encompassing entertainment diva. She has been named “The Queen of House Music” in Billboard Magazine and countless international publications. Cain has rightfully earned this honor not only because of her groundbreaking solo dance hits and performances, but also because of her pivotal role in laying the foundation of House Music itself.
Her performances, events, club appearances, and cinematic endeavors have attained legendary status in the industry. As the foremost female proponent of House, she is also the President of the esteemed label TRAX Records, which is based in her original home Chicago, and known globally as the “Motown” of the pioneering dance genre. Rachael has also been on the Board of “YOUTH COMMUNICATION” a 501 C3 that has been in operation since 1976. She has served as the Board President since the unfortunate passing of John Owrey on January 5th, 2022.
In reflecting on her multifaceted roles, Rachael asserts, “While my entry into this industry was as a recording artist, it is not uncommon for male artists to simultaneously lead record labels. Notable figures like Master P and Chance the Rapper have successfully balanced their music artistry with label management. I hope to set a precedent for gender equality in the music industry, and inspire other women to follow suit, as I did with the example set by my mentor the late Sylvia Robinson, who was a legendary recording artist, and founder/CEO of the iconic hip-hop label Sugar Hill Records.”
A preferred domain for Ms. Cain is the stage, where her captivating vocal performances have enraptured audiences worldwide. Screamin’ Rachael has shared the spotlight with an array of music luminaries, world leaders, actors, and artists, including the likes of the Rolling Stones, George Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, Frankie Knuckles, Tony Bennett and Grace Jones, among others.
Her magnetic singing appearances at esteemed venues worldwide, such as The Majestic in Cannes, E-Space Kiron and Wanderlust in Paris, TheLimelight in New York, and Festivals including Riot Fest, Fauna Primavera in Chile, and The Laguna Music Festival have solidified her reputation as a sought-after performer in the music scene.
In the words of Paris-based Trax Magazine, “Screamin’ Rachael doesn’t just make the scene – she creates it!”
