We finally have news on the latest series from Taylor Sheridan, The Madison.

Sheridan has built a television empire with his Yellowstone universe. Now, he’s adding to it with a modern-day spinoff, The Madison.

Sheridan already blessed us with two Yellowstone prequels to satisfy our Western-series cravings: 1883 and 1923.

Yellowstone is done and dusted, but there is still a future for the universe Taylor Sheridan created beyond 1883 and 1923.

A few days ago, Paramount+ announced the premiere date, first-look photos, and episode count for The Madison. Today, they released the first teaser, which gives us an idea about the show’s tone.

While the episode count is sparse, this new Montana-based series is not lacking in star power.

Here’s everything we know so far!

What is The Madison About?

The Madison is set in the modern day. It follows the story of the Clyburn family, who uproot from New York City to Montana after suffering a horrific tragedy.

Paramount describes the series as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”

The series was originally called 2024 before the title changed to The Madison.

It is said to be Sheridan’s most intimate work to date, unfolding across two distinct worlds — the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan — as it examines the ties that bind families together.

Who is Behind The Madison?

Of course, the guiding force behind The Madison is Taylor Sheridan, the genius behind the Yellowstone universe.

Sheridan is also behind the highly enjoyable Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness, and Landman, all on Paramount+.

Fun fact, when The Madison was first announced, Landman hadn’t even premiered yet, and we’re about to say farewell to Landman Season 2 already.

TV production can take a long time, especially when someone as busy as Taylor Sheridan is involved.

It’s being produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.

The Madison is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, and Keith Cox.

How Does The Madison Fit Into the Yellowstone Universe?

The Madison is set in the present day. Unless we hear otherwise, for now, the show is entirely independent of Yellowstone but in the same universe.

Yellowstone has used scenes featuring characters from the Yellowstone prequel and Dutton origin story, 1883, but it’s unclear whether any of that will carry over to The Madison.

We will know more when the show premieres and when production continues for subsequent seasons.

Who Stars in The Madison?

The series already has plenty of big names joining the cast, and although details are slim, we do have some goodies to share.

The iconic Michelle Pfeiffer will star as Stacy Clyburn, whose story the show centers around.

Although few details have been released about Stacy, we do know that she has a tragic story.

After her husband and brother-in-law are killed in a plane crash, she leaves New York City for Montana.

We won’t rehash Pfeiffer’s massive list of movie credits, but the last time she appeared on TV was in the 2022 Showtime drama series, The First Lady.

Matthew Fox plays Paul Clyburn, a self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors. The actor is most known for his roles in Party of Five and Lost.

Fox has been relatively quiet on the television front, so it’ll be nice to see him back on the American small screen. He most recently starred in the 2023 Australian television comedy series C*A*U*G*H*T.

Elle Chapman will play Stacy’s other daughter, Paige McIntosh. Paige is somewhat self-centered and indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle funded by her parents and her husband, Russell.

This is Chapman’s first major role on American television. Previously, she starred in the Spanish series The Girl in the Mirror (original title: Alma), now streaming on Netflix.

She also appeared in the 2022 film A Man Called Otto, starring Tom Hanks.

Patrick J. Adams will play Russell McIntosh, Paige’s husband. Russell is a young investment banker who has followed the life path set before him from the start.

Of course, Adams is best known for his role as Mike Adams on Suits. He most recently starred in the Netflix drama series Wayward.

Beau Garrett plays Abigail Reese, Stacy’s daughter. Abigail is a recently divorced mother of two, a resilient and sardonic New Yorker.

Garrett has several TV credits, including a lead role in the 2021 Netflix series Firefly Lane with Kathryn Heigl and the 2014 Bravo series Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce.

She also appeared in The Good Doctor, The Rookie, and Longmire.

And finally, Kurt Russell stars as Preston Clyburn. We have no information on his character at this time, but we’re anxious to see how Preston fits into the story.

Our best guess is that Preston could be the husband Stacy lost, and that her move to Montana may be due to his love for it. How else would we explain the photos of him in the great state? And could Fox be the deceased brother-in-law?

Of course, it’s fun to guess, but for now, that’s all it is. Russell will also be seen in the upcoming season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on Apple TV.

Other stars include Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Bridgett Reese, Alaina Pollack (The Surrender) as Macy Reese, Ben Schnetzer (3 Body Problem) as Van Davis, Kevin Zegers (Power) as Cade Harris, Rebecca Spence (Lady in the Lake) as Liliana Weeks, and Danielle Vasinova as Kestrel Harris.

When Will The Madison Premiere?

The Madison will premiere on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

To our knowledge, this is the first Paramount+ series to air on Saturdays. It makes us wonder what will premiere on Sundays and could air alongside the new show.

It’s possible the long-awaited Beth Dutton/Rip Wheeler series will be announced soon. We can hope!

Where Can I Watch The Madison?

The Madison will air exclusively on Paramount+.

How Many Episodes Will The Madison Season 1 Have?

This is another oddity for the new show in Yellowstone Universe.

The Madison Season 1 will consist of only six episodes. That’s a short amount of time for us to fall in love with a new family. Are you ready for the challenge?

Is There a Trailer for The Madison Season 1?

While there isn’t a trailer yet, this article features all-new photos of The Madison.

(Emerson Miller/Paramount+)

Given the short timeline before the premiere, we expect a teaser or trailer will be released in the coming weeks.

The photos suggest that The Madison will follow the lead of other Montana-based series, with the state’s natural splendor front and center.

But be sure to watch this space for updates on any new developments.
