A Coaching Model By Rony Elklayany, Executive Coach, LEBANON
7 Steps Process Where Every Step Is About a New Goal to Accomplish
For the last 18 years, my diverse and broad-based working experience allowed me to explore the performance behavior differences between cultures, industries, and professional levels. Throughout my journey, I learned that “high performance” isn’t achieved by accident. People whose performance is consistently high and exceptional achieved their goals because they could process how they do things differently.
As a Performance & Executive Coach, I chose to help everyone looking to enhance his performance and maintain a balance between work and life. I chose to assist him in developing creative processes to explore and maximize his personal and professional potential.
What is PROCESS?
Process: is a natural phenomenon marked by gradual changes that lead toward a particular result such as the process of growth. – as defined in Merriam Webster’s dictionary.
For me, PROCESS is a unique code for each one of us to explore our capabilities and unleash our potential throughout our transformation journey to success. It will help us improve our performance and reach our goals by identifying where we stand, where we want to go, and what are the steps needed to get in Action and Achieve.
But, as all programmers know, code evolves as much as do the one who wrote them. This is why it’s crucial to involve our PROCESS in several check-ins or check-ups throughout our coaching sessions. It helps us in the progress assessment and validation to determine the possible change in direction or subsequent actions needed to achieve our desired outcomes.
The P.R.O.C.E.S.S. Model
As we all thrive to enhance our performance, we often end up with burnout and a feeling of being stagnant in our place with no progress. Our most significant misconception about high performance is working nonstop for longer hours, cramming activities into our day. When we fail to keep on the same momentum, we get demotivated losing focus, and direction.
The alignment of several factors helps us become more productive, maintain our energy level, and stay motivated. The P.R.O.C.E.S.S. is the coaching model that I adopt to walk you through these factors during our coaching sessions.
P – Purpose
The first factor is setting the foundation by inviting you to explore the purpose of our coaching session, drawing the big picture, and the destination you want to reach. Staying focused on one goal at a time will allow you to swiftly progress through the aspects of this goal! Smooth progress will help you stay motivated and on track!
R – Reality
Mining your strengths and competencies will help you better understand yourself. It will help you in discovering the reality of your current skills, knowledge, and attributes. Accordingly, you will realize what needs to be enhanced and rely on to fulfill your goals.
O – Outcomes
Once purpose and reality have been set, you will formulate a clearer idea of what you want to achieve. This will help you select the ideal outcome you desire beyond current thinking and set the measurement of success to assess your findings and solutions.
C – Creative Alternatives
You are the most qualified to know what works better for you. All you have to do is unleash your creativity in brainstorming alternatives to achieve things differently and explore options available to you.
E – Evaluation
It is vital at this stage to evaluate your findings and/or solutions for your ideal desired outcome against the measurement of success you set earlier. This will give you confidence and motivation to move forward.
S – Setting the Action Plan
Goals will stay thoughts if not put into action. This is about determining what small action or actions you will now take to start your journey to acquire your goals. A clear timetable of what to do and when will hold you accountable and committed to reaching your goals.
S – Success Stories
Let’s celebrate the learnings you came out from your self-exploration journey and see how this will change your performance. What we learn about ourselves, and the AHA moments we become aware of is very important in this process. By summarizing your accomplishments, you will be able to see your opportunities to gain future success.
