A Coaching Model By Ghadeer Alsulami, Transformational Coach, SAUDI ARABIA

Three Main Stages: Awareness, Vision, Momentum

Awareness, Vision, Momentum Ghadeer Alsulami Coaching ModelCoaching is a powerful tool that may be used to support clients to be aware of what is going on in their lives both internally and externally. To use coaching sessions merely as a tracking method of when and how will a client achieve his/her goal is underestimating the power of coaching. As a coach, I believe that together with the client we can go beyond the judgments we put on ourselves when we don’t achieve a goal such as am a loser, I am not good enough, I didn’t work hard enough… etc. to reach a state of both understanding, empathy and change from the inside out. My coaching model focuses on three main stages: raising awareness of their situation, setting goals, creating a plan, and maintaining momentum.

My Coaching Model Awareness, Vision, Momentum

First Step: Creating Awareness

Awareness, Vision, Momentum Ghadeer Alsulami Coaching ModelHave you tried to implement some kind of change in your life and couldn’t no matter how hard you tried? Have you been procrastinating for so long? Have you beaten yourself up so many times and threw judgments such as being lazy, not good enough, unfocused, and yet feeling stuck? You are not alone.

We are all unique and precious crystals though we are buried with a lot of dust and dirt represented by the inner critique, excuses, low self-esteem, underlying beliefs, lost vision… etc. My role as a coach is to support my client get to their unique crystal. Through asking powerful questions, active listening, and providing feedback, we can identify and explore the client’s vision, underlying beliefs, values, feelings. The first step is a stepping stone for the following step.

Second Step: Creating a Vision

The coach works with the client to identify their satisfaction level at different parts of their lives using tools such as the wheel of life then identifying where they would like to be. Furthermore, the coach explores with the client the meaning behind each goal and why it is important to him/her. In addition, the coach can explore with the client ways that can remind her/him of their goals. The main purpose of this step is to create a sense of direction where the clients want.

Third Step: Creating Momentum

Awareness, Vision, Momentum Ghadeer Alsulami Coaching ModelAt this step, the coach works with the client to identify strategies, available opportunities, and resources that may help the client get to their vision. The coach empowers the client by always shifting their perspective into a person of power rather than a victim. In addition, the coach supports the client creating a sense of gratitude for what they have and excitement about what is coming in the future. The coach always supports the client to keep momentum towards their vision by helping them identify the actions and activities that provide them with the energy needed to move forward. When there are setbacks, the coach keeps an open mind and creates a no-judgment environment for the client to create a deep clarity of the reasons behind the setback then continue moving towards their desired goals.
