Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snoop Dogg to Perform at Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony

H.E.R. will also perform national anthem in Paris as part of “handover celebration” to LA28 games

Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Olympics correspondent Snoop Dogg — all Los Angeles-based artists — will perform at the 2024 Paris Olympics’ closing ceremony Sunday night as part of the “handover celebration” looking ahead to the LA28 games.

H.E.R. was also deliver the National Anthem live from Paris during the closing ceremony, which will hint at the collective star power that the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles has in store.

“This is the biggest moment in LA28 history to date, as the Olympic flag passes from Paris to LA,” LA28 Chairperson and President Casey Wasserman said in a statement. “We are thrilled to feature the very best of LA with local artists and are grateful to Billie, H.E.R., the Chili Peppers and Snoop for their collaboration on what will be an incredible show to a global audience that will give fans a taste of what’s to come in 2028.”

The handover celebration will also feature “additional surprise guests” — perhaps that Tom Cruise stunt that’s been rumored all Olympics long — and is under the creative direction of Emmy-winning producer Ben Winston, who added in a statement, “The LA28 Handover promises to showcase the heartbeat of LA — which like the Olympics — is where people come from all over the world to pursue their dreams. We hope to showcase a collection of Los Angeles stories – featuring the city’s people, creativity, music and of course sport, all wrapped up with a little Hollywood magic – to invite the world into the LA28 Games.”  

The Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony featured a performance by Lady Gaga, Gojira going viral, and Celine Dion’s long-awaited return to the stage.
