The musician cites scheduling conflicts as the reason for the cancellations, adding: “I am so sorry & very disappointed 🙁 I promise I will be back”

Paris and Amsterdam will have to wait a while longer to experience Chappell Roan‘s Midwest Princess tour. The musician announced on Thursday, Aug. 29, that her performances in both cities had been canceled. She cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for the cancellations of the shows scheduled for Sept. 3 and 4, respectively.

“Due to scheduling conflicts, I have had to make the extremely hard decision to cancel my Paris and Amsterdam shows,” Roan wrote on social media. “I have rescheduled my Berlin show to 23 September. I am so sorry & very disappointed 🙁 I promise I will be back. I’m heartbroken 💔 thank you for understanding.”

Roan’s Berlin performance was initially scheduled for Aug. 31 but was also moved due to schedule-related conflicts. The Midwest Princess tour will resume on Sept. 9 in Glasgow. Throughout the rest of September, Roan will also make a stop in Dublin and deliver three performances in London.

The 26-year-old artist has been on the road in support of her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess for nearly a full year. The Midwest Princess tour began in late September 2023 and extended through December 2023 before picking back up in March 2024. When Roan returns from Europe, she has another run of shows scheduled throughout the U.S. including festival appearances at All Things Go and Austin City Limits.

The scheduling shift in Roan’s tour run comes just a few days after she took to social media to outline clear boundaries between her work and personal life. “For the past 10 years I’ve been going non-stop to build my project and it’s come to the point that I need to draw lines and set boundaries,” she wrote in a lengthy statement. “I want to be an artist for a very very long time. I’ve been in too many nonconsensual physical and social interactions and I just need to lay it out and remind you, women don’t owe you shit.”

She added: “I chose this career path because I love music and art and honoring my inner child, I do not accept harassment of any kind because I chose this path, nor do I deserve it.”
