83% of Business Leaders Establish Teams to Focus on AI, Study Finds

A recent report by NTT Data reveals that nearly all business leaders surveyed have already invested in generative AI, with 83% establishing specialized teams to focus on the technology. The Global GenAI Report: How Organizations Are Mastering Their Generative AI Destiny in 2025 surveyed over 2,300 IT and business leaders across 34 countries and 12 industries, including logistics, manufacturing, and healthcare.

The findings highlight that 97% of CEOs foresee generative AI having a significant impact on their operations. Additionally, 96% are exploring ways to use the technology to streamline employee workflows and support processes, while 99% plan to increase their investments in this area.

The primary applications for generative AI include personalized service recommendations, knowledge management, quality control, and research and development.

Abhijit Dubey, CEO of NTT Data, observed that generative AI is poised to become a transformative force in the tech-driven economy. He noted that this moment marks a pivotal point in global history, as organizations harness the technology’s potential.

Two-thirds of the surveyed business leaders predicted that generative AI would be a game changer within the next two years. They anticipate improvements in productivity, efficiency, sustainability, compliance, business processes, security, and the overall employee experience.
