“I hurt my back in NOLA and my doctors have instructed me to rest a little bit longer,” the singer explained

Justin Timberlake has been forced to cancel an upcoming stop on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour after injuring his back.

The singer announced the news on his Instagram Story on Saturday afternoon, writing, “I’m so sorry Oklahoma City…I have to cancel the show on 12/2. “I hurt my back in NOLA and my doctors have instructed me to rest a little bit longer.”

Timberlake did not reveal how exactly he hurt his back or what the projected recovery time may be. “Thank you for your support—ya’ll know I hate doing this,” he concluded.

Timberlake began his tour in April, and it has not been without bumps in the road. Just last month, he postponed a handful of shows into 2025 after coming down with bronchitis and laryngitis. “Hey guys — I haven’t been feeling great the last few shows and turns out I have bronchitis and laryngitis. I’m so sorry to say I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2.” He also pushed another show back a week in October due to what he described as “an injury that is preventing me from performing.” Timberlake also had to call off a show in London this past February after coming down with “some kind of bug.”

Timberlake’s tour supports his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, which he released in March and marked his first solo effort since 2018’s Man of the Woods.

But one thing that hasn’t seemed to have a negative impact on his tour is his recent DUI. The pop star was also pulled over and arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired in the Hamptons this summer, a charge he eventually pleaded guilty to in September. After entering his plea, Timberlake issued a PSA outside of the courthouse, saying: “This is a mistake that I made, but I’m hoping that whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake. Even one drink — don’t get behind the wheel of the car.”

Timberlake vaguely addressed the incident during a show in June, days after he was released from police custody. “We’ve been together through ups and downs and lefts and rights, and it’s been a tough week,” Timberlake told the crowd at United Center on June 21, “but you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now.”
