EXCLUSIVE: The Apprentice is heading back into theaters after scoring two Oscar nominations for its stars Sebastian Stan in Best Actor and Jeremy Strong in Best Supporting Actor.

The Apprentice will play this Friday in Los Angeles at Laemmle’s Monica Theatre in Santa Monica and Noho Theatre in North Hollywood as well as the Lumiere at the Music Hall in Beverly Hills in addition to other theaters across the country including the Angelika in Washington D.C. and the Tower in Sacramento. The Apprentice will return to New York theaters on Friday, Feb. 7.

The Briarcliff Entertainment and Rich Spirit movie follows Donald Trump (Stan) during his early New York City real estate days as he’s mentored by an unscrupulous attorney Roy Cohn (Strong).

The Ali Abassi directed movie was written by Gabriel Sherman. Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova stars as Ivana Trump.

Stan’s performance, Abassi’s direction, and the editors were also nominated by the Independent Spirit Awards; with Strong also nominated at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Rich Spirit recently saved The Apprentice after Kinematics exited the project, the former filling a multi-million dollar hole on the controversial Donald Trump movie which drew an 11-minute standing ovation at its premiere in Cannes last May. Rich Spirit recently took over Participant’s share on BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions after that embattled financier held up the Sundance world premiere of the experimental Kalil Joseph movie in the NEXT section; Rich Spirit clearing the way for that pic’s debut.

Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Briarcliff Entertainment said, “We are grateful for the recognition from the Academy for Sebastian and Jeremy’s phenomenal work in The Apprentice. Our theatrical re-release and strong uptick in Home Entertainment viewing are evidence the film is finding its audience at exactly the right time and we look forward to even more people discovering this extraordinary motion picture.”
