The band pushed three gigs this weekend, but will honor original tickets when the shows are rescheduled

Blackberry Smoke have decided to reschedule three of their upcoming shows as they mourn the death of drummer Brit Turner

The three postponed gigs were set to take place this weekend in Denver; Beaver Creek, Colorado; and Kansas City. Blackberry Smoke said they would “be back as soon as possible” with more info and rescheduled dates, but urged fans to hold onto their tickets as they’ll be valid for the new gigs.

As it stands, Blackberry Smoke will return to the road March 14 at the Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines, Iowa.

“Thank you all for your continued support during this time,” Blackberry Smoke said. They also told fans looking to support Turner’s family to visit a donation page for the non-profit group, Families and Communities Together (FACT) Relief.

The org helps families when their head of household has been diagnosed with a critical illness. In a previous statement, Blackberry Smoke said Turner’s family is “financially stable,” but noted, “As we discuss options, research, and cultivate plans for what the future looks like, we know there will be unforeseen situations. Residual funds are granted to deserving causes.”

Turner died on Sunday at the age of 57. He’d been battling glioblastoma (brain cancer), which he was diagnosed with in 2022; a few months prior, Turner had suffered a heart attack, and a tumor was later discovered during a routine MRI. Turner underwent brain surgery in 2022 and even managed to return to the stage with Blackberry Smoke a few weeks later.

Despite his illness, Turner continued to play with Blackberry Smoke whenever his health allowed. He also drummed on the band’s most recent album, Be Right Here, which was released last month.
