There’s a special kind of connection that happens when movement becomes something shared.

It doesn’t require a studio, a perfect schedule, or even both people in the same room. Sometimes it simply takes intention, consistency, and the willingness to show up for each other in a different way.

For me, that experience has become part of my weekly rhythm with my mom.

As a trainer, I’ve been working with her virtually using the Total Gym. She lives in another part of the country, and we meet three times a week through a screen, moving together, laughing, coaching, adjusting, and building strength in real time.

My mom is in her 70+ season of life and continues to inspire me every week. She’s determined, focused, and committed to improving the way she moves and feels. She listens closely to what her body needs, and she understands that movement is not optional. It is part of maintaining strength, mobility, confidence, and quality of life.

Over time, I’ve watched her mental focus sharpen, her movement quality improve, and her strength grow in ways that continue to surprise her.

Training virtually has also helped her develop greater body awareness. She has learned to watch, listen, feel, and respond to coaching cues so adjustments and progressions can happen safely and effectively.

That’s something anyone can experience with their mom, workout partner, or loved one, with or without a Total Gym.
